Hello and welcome to my website!
Like most web-site introductions, I know my site needs one, but I have no idea what to write in it. So here I am tapping away at this without any clear direction, hmm, not looking good.
Ok then, let us kick off with a bit about me. My name is Danielle, and I’m a transsexual woman who has just passed 40 (no idea how that happened mind, I still feel twentysomething. I work as a software developer and system architect specialising in KM tools and technology.
On this website my aim is to keep a record of my transition, do some blogging, create some resources for the TS/TG community and above all, attempt to help other people experiencing some of the things which I have on this exciting and terrifying journey.
There it is then, an introduction to my website.
It’s a bit of a rubbish attempt at an intro to be honest; I’ll probably write a better one soon :)
To find your way around the site, the main content is linked up at the top of the page, and the account settings and news etc. are over on the left.
Windows Home Server / Windows 7 password problems
I've been pulling my hair out today with Windows Home Server refusing to synchronise it's password with two Windows 7 clients on my home network.
No matter how many times I ran the WHS resync tool, the error dialogue constantly complained about the client password being required.
As far as I can tell the issue was caused because up until running the WHS console, neither of these two system had a login password, then as soon as the console registered a password it broke something.
After much head scratching, I'm happy to say I found a fix.
V (2009) TV Series Review
What is it about?
V is about a race of aliens who come to Earth promising benevolence but have far more sinister intentions.
V is the “re-imagining” of the 1983 mini-series which I was huge fan of, though I always felt left down by the follow up show which aired in 1984.
Is it any good?
When I heard V was being remade I was quite excited, science fiction shows have been of a generally high standard recently and a V remake has a lot of potential.
The Paradox of our Time
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but
shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more,
but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and

Finally synced my website with Twitter and Facebook!
After much tinkering, I think I've finally got my site also posting updates to Twitter and Facebook, and then reposting the tweets back here.
All being will this blog will "automagically" appear on my Twitter page, and then Facebook shortly after.

Vaniqa is a topical cream used to remove unwanted facial hair, it's typically applied twice daily, and seems to cause a lot of confusion about how to best use it as the included instructions are vague at best.

Lexicons and Leprechauns
So the end of 2008 is here and as I type the final hours of the year (in the UK) are ticking past and what a remarkably eventful year this has been for me.
I’ve discovered and learned so much this year; I don’t think I’ll be able to take it all in for a long time. The biggest discovery, or strictly speaking re-discovery, has been my friends.

Humiliated and embarrassed
Today I was left incredibly humiliated and embarrassed by a very large national chain of retailers, of whom I have been a loyal customer for a long time.
I needed to pick up a new suit or smart jacket for work due to my old one becoming too big for me. As I had a free hour, I popped into the store in question, I had seen some ones which I quite liked on their website and the store generally has god stock (and usually exceptional customer service).
Easykard? Avoid it like the plague...
Thinking of getting one of those pre-paid cards from Easykard? In a nutshell, don't!
About a year or so back, I decided I wanted to be a little more secure online and get a limited credit card for use online, and Easykard appeared to offer the ideal service.
Easykard is one of those credit cards where you pre-load the card with funds then use it as you like. On the face of it, a pretty decent service, one which I thought would be ideal for my "online" card, something to use for those times where I want to be extra super careful and really limit the risk of fraud.
